Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani commented on his meetings during his visit to Tunisia, the Entrepreneurship Forum that was held, and the strategic cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy and migration.

Highlighting Tunisia’s central role in Italy’s Africa policy, Tajani said: “Today, I am in Tunisia to reaffirm the importance of our bilateral partnership based on a vision of growth and stability in the Mediterranean. Tunisia is a strategic partner for Italy and a bridge to Africa; it lies at the heart of the Mattei Plan and of the cooperation that we want to become increasingly equal and growth-oriented.”

Referring to economic relations and the bilateral meeting, Tajani stated: “The extraordinary participation of around 500 companies in the Entrepreneurship Forum demonstrates the great economic potential between our two countries. I discussed this with Prime Minister Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri, and together we reviewed major regional crises and bilateral cooperation, including in the fields of migration and energy.”

Emphasizing strategic energy projects in the Mediterranean and the European Union’s vision, Tajani concluded his remarks as follows:

“Our goal is to make the Mediterranean a sea of growth and innovation through strategic projects such as ELMED, Transmed, and the Southern Hydrogen Corridor, while strengthening our energy security. Finally, I expressed the Italian Government’s full support for developing a strong partnership with the European Union, which is vital for the stability of our continents.”
