US President Donald Trump made a statement regarding the process that began after Iran agreed to fully and safely reopen the Strait of Hormuz to traffic, as well as the expectations for the period ahead.

Emphasizing that an important step had been taken for world peace, Trump said: "A great day for world peace! Iran wants this, they said enough! So does everyone else! The United States will help ease traffic congestion in the Strait of Hormuz."

Addressing the economic benefits of the process and Iran’s future, Trump said: "There will be very positive developments! Big money will be made. Iran can begin the process of reconstruction."

Trump added: "We will be filled with all kinds of materials and will 'stay there' to make sure everything goes well. I am confident this will happen."

Trump concluded with optimism about the region: "Just as we experienced in the US, this could be the golden age of the Middle East."
