US President Donald Trump announced that military operations would be conducted against Iran.

Claiming that Iran’s military capacity has largely been eliminated, Trump said, “Most of Iran’s offensive capability, along with its navy, air force, radars, anti-aircraft systems, and all other defense elements, is now gone.”

Stating that the US would launch a new operation against Iran, Trump said, “The United States will hit Iran very hard tonight.”

Trump also targeted Iran’s energy infrastructure in his remarks, saying, “In the not-too-distant future, we will take Kharg Island and other oil infrastructure sites and assume full control of their oil and natural gas markets.”

Arguing that this approach resembles the policy implemented in Venezuela, Trump said, “We will act as we did in Venezuela. This has produced extremely successful results for both Venezuela and the United States.”
