Tsahkna: I welcome the ceasefire announced between Israel and Lebanon
Tallinn, April 16 (Hibya) – Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna spoke about the 10-day ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and Lebanon and the humanitarian situation in the region.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna shared his assessments of the steps that need to be taken to reduce tensions in the region, establish lasting peace, and preserve Lebanon’s sovereignty.
Describing the ceasefire decision as a positive step, Tsahkna said: “I welcome the ceasefire announced between Israel and Lebanon; this is a necessary step to reduce tensions and open a path forward. Lasting peace must now be our common goal.”
Drawing attention to the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon and the need for aid, Tsahkna stated: “The people of Lebanon are bearing the heaviest burden of this conflict and need continuous, unhindered humanitarian support.”
Reiterating Estonia’s message of support, Tsahkna added: “We are ready to assist the Lebanese government in disarming Hezbollah and restoring full sovereignty.”
