European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that Romania destroyed an explosive-laden maritime drone near the Neptun Deep platform in the Black Sea.

Von der Leyen said the campaign of threats aimed at unsettling citizens and dividing the European Union is escalating, adding: "This is hybrid warfare."

Emphasizing that the European Union was founded to preserve peace, von der Leyen said this also requires having the capacity to deter provocation and aggression.

Von der Leyen said the Readiness 2030 agenda has mobilized up to 800 billion euros in resources, adding that production is being increased under the European Drone Defence Initiative and Eastern Flank Watch.
