Zelensky: Japanese delegation’s presence in Kyiv is a genuine sign of respect
Kyiv, September 15 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that during his meeting with Speaker of the Japanese House of Representatives Eisuke Mori, they discussed energy support ahead of winter and defense cooperation.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met in Kyiv with Speaker of the Japanese House of Representatives Eisuke Mori.
Zelensky noted that the meeting took place “at a time when Russia’s constant and ruthless attacks continue,” adding that the Japanese delegation’s presence in Kyiv despite all the threats was “a genuine sign of respect.”
Zelensky said the meeting addressed energy support for Ukraine ahead of winter as well as defense cooperation. He added that Japan’s participation in the PURL initiative was also discussed.
Zelensky thanked Speaker Mori, the Japanese Parliament and the Japanese people “for their principled solidarity, concrete assistance, and support for our sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
Zelensky also said they would be pleased to welcome Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to Ukraine.
