Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he held a telephone conversation with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten.

In a statement on social media, Zelensky thanked the Netherlands for its support for Ukraine and its approach to providing assistance.

Zelensky said he briefed Jetten on Russia's recent attacks against Ukrainian cities and settlements. “The Russians attack our people almost every day and do not hesitate to use ballistic missiles to destroy lives,” he said.

Emphasizing that air defense remains one of Ukraine's highest priorities, Zelensky said, “Missiles for air defense systems are our most important priority.”

Zelensky said the two leaders discussed how the Netherlands could support Ukraine's defense during the current period and as part of preparations for winter. He added that Ukraine appreciates the Netherlands' willingness to work toward finding solutions.

The two leaders also discussed diplomatic processes and the contacts held in Washington last week.

Zelensky also addressed Ukraine's European Union accession process, noting that they discussed efforts to open four new negotiating clusters and the broader enlargement process.
