Katz: I am observing waves of attacks on Israel's security policy
Tel Aviv, September 14 (Hibya) - Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz criticized campaigns in the media targeting the State of Israel's security policies and the attitudes of media professionals.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said he has been observing waves of attacks and distortions in the media directed at Israel's security policy.
Classifying those who spread the distortions, Katz said, "On one side there are the 'hitmen': people who moderate conferences with their booming baritone voices; who use the title of 'analyst' mainly as a tool to make money and secure work; and who write and publish distorted content in ways that serve the interests of certain parties."
Continuing his remarks, Katz targeted veteran journalists, saying, "Then there are veteran journalists — including some who were once courageous field reporters — who have now lost their former importance and are forced to please the media organizations they are affiliated with in order not to fade from view. They are the most pitiable of all."
Katz concluded his message by saying, "And yes, there are also honest journalists who, regardless of their personal views, do not compromise on seriousness and fact-based journalism."
