Steel futures declined in Shanghai
Beijing, September 14 (Hibya) - Steel futures contracts on the Shanghai Futures Exchange ended Friday's session lower.
According to CCTV, the most actively traded steel contracts on the Shanghai Futures Exchange recorded declines.
The January 2027 rebar contract ended the daily session at 3,108 yuan per tonne, down 1.24 percent from the previous settlement price. This price was equivalent to approximately 463.43 dollars.
The January 2027 hot-rolled coil contract fell 1.16 percent to close at 3,325 yuan per tonne. The contract price was calculated at approximately 495.79 dollars.
Rebar is mainly used in buildings, bridges and infrastructure projects, while hot-rolled coil is used in various areas of the manufacturing sector, including automotive, household appliances, machinery and pipe production.
Both contracts are among the world's most actively traded steel futures and are regarded as important price benchmarks in Chinese and global steel markets.
