Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte had conveyed to him his assessment of the latest situation on the Ukraine-Russia front.

Tusk said escalation on the Russian side was continuing and that Ukraine needed more air support.

In a post on his social media account, Tusk said: “Mark Rutte has just conveyed to me his assessment of the situation in the region and on the Ukraine-Russia front. As I warned, escalation on the Russian side continues.”

Tusk said Ukraine needed more support in the air, stressing that such support was important not only for Ukraine but also for Europe’s security.

Tusk said: “Ukraine needs more support from the air; this is also of great importance for our security. This is the task of all of Europe.”

Tusk also made a notable assessment regarding the period ahead. Saying that “the next six months will be decisive,” he stated that Poland and NATO must be prepared for different scenarios.

Tusk wrote: “We, Poland and NATO, must be prepared for various scenarios.”

Tusk also warned about possible Russian moves toward NATO countries.

Tusk said: “We cannot rule out Russian provocations against a NATO member country.”
