White House outlines Trump administration's border policy measures
Washington, November 2 (Hibya) – The White House issued a statement detailing measures implemented by the administration of United States (US) President Donald Trump to reduce crossings at the southern border and change immigration policies.
The White House announced the steps taken by US President Donald Trump's administration regarding border security and immigration policies.
The statement claimed that crossings at the US southern border had fallen to the lowest level in history, that Trump deployed troops to the southern border on his first day in office, and that border crossings by unaccompanied children had reached a record low.
The statement reported that the whereabouts of more than 157,000 migrant children had been identified, construction of the border wall had resumed, and 250 miles of the wall had been completed. It also stated that the catch-and-release practice was ended on the first day and the Remain in Mexico policy was reinstated.
The White House said that an executive order had been issued to end birthright citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants and that the CBP One entry application had been discontinued and repurposed for the voluntary departure process.
The statement also indicated that refugee admissions had been significantly reduced, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) had been terminated for 13 countries, and travel restrictions had been reinstated and expanded.
