Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a statement that efforts to seek an understanding with Russia could lead to a waste of time.

Zelensky argued that Russian President Vladimir Putin could prolong the negotiation process by putting forward new conditions. Zelensky said US President Donald Trump wants to achieve a success ahead of the midterm elections and that Putin could try to use the situation to his own advantage.

Zelensky said, “Putin has begun to think that he is the one who will decide. But America is one hundred times stronger than Russia. They need to remember that.”
