Guterres: We must stop wars from spreading and protect civilians

United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres emphasized in a statement following his arrival in Egypt that the spread of wars must be stopped amid escalating conflicts.
Guterres called for the protection of civilians and the creation of political space for diplomacy and peace. Stressing the need to address inequalities that divide societies, Guterres noted that the growing number of conflicts is increasing human suffering and deepening inequalities around the world.
