US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that President Donald Trump's policies toward Iran have not failed; on the contrary, they have strengthened US influence in the region.

Hegseth argued that if Trump had failed, the initiatives currently on the agenda would not have been possible. He added that the ongoing process has established a new framework built on growing US influence, stronger partnerships, and the pursuit of long-term peace and stability in the Middle East.

Addressing criticism, Hegseth claimed that historians will regard Donald Trump as the most significant figure in reshaping the Middle East in the modern era.
