French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized that the crisis must be resolved through diplomacy and said France will do its part in the peace process.

Assessing regional security, Macron said, “No effort should be spared to ensure that the conflict in the Middle East is resolved quickly, firmly and durably through diplomacy.”

Drawing attention to strategic and political priorities, Macron said, “To achieve this, all major issues must be addressed with lasting solutions, including Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile activities and its destabilizing actions in the region; in addition, free and unhindered navigation in the Strait of Hormuz must be restored as soon as possible, and Lebanon must return to the path of peace with full respect for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

Macron concluded his statement by saying, “France stands ready to do its part in this matter as well, as it has consistently done since the first day of the conflict.”
