Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot welcomed the progress on humanitarian corridors and diplomacy, reiterating the importance of international law.

Referring to the results of Lahbib’s work, Prevot said, “The efforts of EU Commissioner Hadja Lahbib on humanitarian corridors are bearing fruit.”

Speaking about Belgium’s position, Prevot added, “Belgium has actively advocated for this. This is an important step.”

Highlighting peace negotiations and aid, Prevot said, “We hope that the resumption of mediation in Switzerland, based on dialogue and respect for international law, will allow improved access to humanitarian aid and further progress toward lasting peace.”
