Fletcher: Humanitarian access must be provided for 11 million people
New York, September 24 (Hibya) – United Nations Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher said there are 10 demands for humanitarian access and that if these demands are met, the lives of 11 million people could be saved.
United Nations Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher highlighted the importance of humanitarian access in a statement regarding the information card he shared with leaders.
Fletcher said, “10 demands to secure access. 11 million people whose lives we can save if we can reach them.”
Stating that humanitarian diplomacy should not be supported merely by abstract statements, Fletcher called for support for efforts to deliver food, medicine and educational assistance.
Fletcher said, “Let us hold one another accountable for delivering results.”
