Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said he attended the Croatia-US Economic Forum titled “Strengthening Our Partnership – A Step Forward.” Plenkovic highlighted Croatia’s economic progress over the past 10 years within the framework of the forum, which symbolizes a new era in economic relations.

Plenkovic said Croatia is a member of the Eurozone and Schengen Area and is in the final stage of the OECD accession process, adding that the economy is showing 3.4 percent growth and record-high employment.

Plenkovic stated that the convergence rate with the European average had risen from 61 percent 10 years ago to 78 percent today, while the country’s credit rating had been upgraded by six notches to investment grade.

Stating that they see the US as a key economic partner, Plenkovic said, “Our bilateral trade volume reached 1.6 billion US dollars last year; in the first six months of 2026, it has already reached approximately 1 billion US dollars.”
